abstract |
A method is provided for manipulating microdroplets of a reaction medium in an immiscible carrier medium in which a target molecule is bound to a solid support for the effect of chemical modification. This includes (a) contacting the microdroplets and the solid support under conditions in which the microdroplets and the solid support are bound; (b) allowing the reaction medium to react with the target molecule, and (c) then applying a force such that the reaction medium is separated from the solid support and reformed into micro droplets in the carrier. In one embodiment, the solid support is particles, beads or the like. |
