abstract The present invention relates to the field of diagnostic methods. More particularly, the present invention relates to determining the amount of microRNA-574-5p in a subject's test sample, comparing the determined amount to a reference, and subjecting a prostaglandin E-dependent tumor to prostaglandin E formation based on the comparison. A method for confirming that a subject suffering from a prostaglandin E-dependent tumor is susceptible to a therapy using an inhibitor of prostaglandin E formation, the method comprising identifying that the therapy is susceptible to a therapy using an inhibitor. In addition, the present invention also provides a detection agent that specifically binds to microRNA-574-5p or a sample in a subject with a prostaglandin E-dependent tumor to confirm that the subject is sensitive to therapy with inhibitors of prostaglandin E formation. And kits including equipment for carrying out the methods of the present invention.
