The present invention relates to light-converting polypeptides. More specifically, the present invention relates to a polypeptide comprising a photo-reactive element, wherein the arrangement of the photo-reactive element (ie, the arrangement state) is transfected and sheathed by irradiating the polypeptide with light of a particular wavelength (s). It can be switched between isomers, the conversion of the arrangement alters the form and binding activity of the polypeptide of the polypeptide (eg the molecule of interest).
