An organic compound having a naphtho [2,3- b ; 7,6- b '] bisbenzofuran skeleton or a naphtho [2,3- b ; 7,6- b '] bisbenzothiophene skeleton and a molecular weight of 5000 or less To provide. The inventors have found that the organic compound is a very effective skeleton as a luminophor of the light emitting device. Since the organic compound has high luminous efficiency and shows good blue light emission, the light emitting device using the organic compound can be a blue light emitting device having high luminous efficiency.
