abstract The present invention relates to a functional additive, a polyphenylene sulfide resin having improved mechanical properties including the same, and a method for preparing the same, wherein the cyclic aromatic disulfide compound represented by Formula 1 of the present invention is used as an additive to form polyphenyl through melt kneading. By reacting with the ethylene sulfide, there is an effect of improving the degree of polymerization of the polyphenylene sulfide resin, further improved mechanical properties are achieved therefrom. In addition, the manufacturing method of the present invention has the advantage that can be performed in a simple process compared to the prior art, there is a useful effect from an economic point of view.
