titleOfInvention Process for producing acetic acid
abstract In the liquid separation process of separating process streams into an aqueous phase and an organic phase, there is provided a method for producing acetic acid which can industrially advantageously separate and remove acetaldehyde as a by-product. In the present invention, the separation step satisfies the following conditions, for example, (vi) to (viii) and the like, and at least a part of the aqueous phase is treated in the acetaldehyde separation removal step. (vi) The acetaldehyde concentration in the water phase is 28.1 mass% or less, and / or the acetaldehyde concentration in the organic phase is 24.8 mass% or less. (vii) The temperature at the time of liquid separation is 70 degrees C or less. (viii) The methyl acetate concentration in the aqueous phase is 12.0 mass% or less, and / or the methyl acetate concentration in the organic phase is 47.6 mass% or less, and / or the sum of the methyl acetate concentration in the aqueous phase and the methyl acetate concentration in the organic phase is 59.6 mass% or less. .
