abstract |
A system for determining the nucleotide sequence of a polynucleotide is disclosed. The system can include a light source, eg, a laser or an LED, configured to generate light at a predetermined wavelength. The detector of the system can detect the fluorescent emission at the first wavelength and the second wavelength. The processor of the system identifies the nucleotide as the first type if the fluorescent emission is not detected by the at least one detector; When fluorescent emission is detected by at least one detector at a first wavelength of light, the nucleotides are identified as a second type; When fluorescent emission is detected by the at least one detector at a second wavelength of light, the nucleotides are identified as a third type; When fluorescent emission is detected by the at least one detector at the first and second wavelengths of light, the nucleotides are identified as a fourth type. |
