Provided are compositions and methods for imparting nematode activity to bacteria, plants, plant cells, tissues, and seeds. In particular, methods are provided for killing or controlling nematode pest populations, in particular Pratylencus species, such as, for example, Pratylenkus brachius populations. The method comprises contacting nematode pests with a pesticidal effective amount of a polypeptide comprising nematicid toxin, in particular nematicid toxin, which is active against Pratylencus spp nematodes, eg, Pratylencus brachius. Also included are methods for increasing the yield of plants by expressing the toxins of the invention. |
