abstract | (Problem) To provide a secondary battery excellent in battery performance (for example, high discharge capacity retention rate in repeated charging / discharging, low impedance, and high quick charge performance), and the porous separator for secondary batteries used for it. (Measures) As a secondary battery provided with a porous separator, the said porous separator is porous containing the polyimide containing the structural unit represented by following formula (1-1) and the structural unit represented by following formula (1-1). A secondary battery comprising a polyimide film. (In the above formula, A 11 and A 12 each independently represent a tetravalent aromatic group derived from an acid anhydride containing an aromatic tetracarboxylic anhydride, and B 11 and B 12 are each independently derived from aromatic diamine.
