abstract The solid surface is modified with (i) crosslinked acrylic or unsaturated polyester resins present in amounts of up to 51 or 52% by volume, and (ii) discontinuous functional particles attached or attached to the filler particles and evenly distributed throughout the solid surface. Or 48 or 49% by volume of inorganic filler particles, wherein (a) 95 to 99% by volume of the filler particles have a major axis dimension in the range of 0.5 to 10 microns or less, and (b) the D50 of the filler particles is 0.5 to 2.5 microns, (c) the filler particles have a D90 of 10 microns or less, and (d) the filler particles are modified with discontinuous functional particles bonded or attached to the filler particles.
