Provided is a method for producing a catalyst for efficiently oxidatively decomposing ethylene, carbon monoxide, formaldehyde and the like even at low temperatures, and provides a production method in which emissions of harmful gases such as halogens are reduced during its production. (1) supporting a noble metal compound containing a halogen ratio in a carrier, (2) reducing the noble metal compound on a carrier obtained in step (1), and (3) a halide in the carrier obtained in step (2). It is solved by a method for producing a low temperature oxidation catalyst comprising the step of supporting, (4) drying the carrier obtained in step (3) to obtain a low temperature oxidation catalyst. |
