abstract The present invention provides a novel use of the YbeD protein to enable microorganisms to maintain cell growth at high temperatures. When the ybeD gene encoding YbeD protein was removed from Escherichia coli, cell growth was inhibited at high temperature, whereas when YbeD was overexpressed, cell growth rate was higher at higher temperature than wild-type strain. It can be seen that it functions as a heat shock protein that allows it.
