abstract The present disclosure relates to a method for quantitating KRas protein directly in a biological sample immobilized in formalin by means of selective reaction monitoring (SRM) mass spectrometry, or by a method which may also be referred to as multiple reaction monitoring (MRM) mass spectrometry. From the protein (KRas), specific peptides, and ionization characteristics derived from the peptides are provided. The biological sample is chemically preserved and fixed, wherein the biological sample is selected from the group consisting of formalin-fixed tissue / cell, formalin-fixed / paraffin embedded tissue (FFPE) tissue / cell, FFPE tissue block and cells derived from the block, Tissue-cultured cells that are fixed and / or paraffin-embedded, as well as tissues and cells treated with formaldehyde containing formulation / fixative.
