abstract Interconnect circuits are provided for transferring the combined electrical and thermal energy to the devices connected to the interconnect circuits. Methods of fabricating such interconnect circuits are also provided. The interconnect circuit may include at least one insulator that provides support for the electro-thermal conductor and the different portions of the conductor relative to one another. The insulator may include one or more openings for electrical connections with the electro-thermal conductor and / or heat exchange. Portions of the conductor can be electrically isolated from each other in the final circuit. Initially, these portions may be formed of the same conductive sheet, such as a metal foil having a thickness of at least about 50 micrometers. This thickness, in addition to providing good electrical conductivity, ensures sufficient heat transfer. In some embodiments, the conductor may include a surface coating for protecting its base material from oxidation, for improving electrical connections, and / or for other purposes.
