abstract A red blood cell agglutination method and separation method and a reagent for erythrocyte agglutination which are capable of agglomerating red blood cells in a sufficient size instantaneously from a blood sample and capable of completely separating red blood cells from a blood sample are provided. The erythrocyte agglutination method of the present invention includes adding a solution containing a colonic acid-based surfactant and an acid to a blood sample. In addition, the method for separating red blood cells of the present invention includes separating red blood cells agglutinated by the method of the present invention. In addition, the reagent for red blood cell flocculation of the present invention contains a carboxylic acid-based surfactant and an acid.
