abstract There is provided a process for producing activated particles comprising 188 Re-isotope and / or 186 Re-isotope by irradiating a non-volatile and water-insoluble starting particle comprising a rhenium compound with a neutron. In addition, there is provided a process for producing corresponding nonvolatile and water insoluble starting particles. In addition, there is provided a composition comprising each of the starting particles and the activated particles, and a plurality of activated particles. Activated particles, and compositions comprising them, are suitable for use in the treatment of radionuclides, and for cosmetic applications.
