Delayed emission delivery system and method |
abstract |
The delayed release delivery system comprises hydrophilic core particles having surface pores and containing a liquid. The particles are encapsulated in a polymer having a hydrophobic backbone and a hydrophilic pendant group. At least some of the surface pores adjacent to the hydrophilic pendant groups are shielded in the presence of water and unblocked in the absence of water. The treated particles contain liquid at a weight ratio of liquid to porous core particles of at least 400: 1. |
