abstract | The present invention relates to a mold material mixture for making a casting mold for metal working, a process for producing a casting mold, and a use of the casting mold and the casting mold obtained by the above process. In order to produce a casting mold, a refractory mold base material and a waterglass binder are used. Partially particulate metal oxides selected from the group consisting of silicon dioxide, aluminum oxide, titanium oxide and zinc oxide are added to the binder and it is particularly preferred to use synthetic amorphous silicon dioxide. The mold material mixture contains phosphate as an essential component. The use of phosphates can improve the mechanical strength of the casting molds at high heat loads. |
