The present invention relates to a method and system for disinfecting a surface requiring disinfection in a volume space by forming a peroxide on the reaction layer directly in situ on the surface to be disinfected. In particular, peroxide formation and organic acid compounds are sequentially dispersed within the volume space, and the formation of peroxide is prevented until the two reactants are in contact with each other at the surface to be disinfected. The peracid reactant compounds can be dispersed into electrostatically charged droplets or vapors. In particular, there is provided a system for sequential dispersing a peracid reactant compound by electrostatic spraying. |
