abstract A method of making a crosslinked-bonded siloxane network comprises the steps of: (a) providing a first portion comprising a first siloxane compound and a curing inhibitor; (b) providing a second portion comprising a hydroxide salt; (c) (D) heating the reaction mixture to a temperature sufficient to cause the hydroxide salt to ring the ring of cyclic siloxane moieties, and (e) heating the reaction mixture to a temperature elevated temperature To allow at least a portion of the ring-opened cyclic siloxane moieties to react with one another to produce a crosslink-bonded siloxane network.
