The present invention relates to a composition comprising an extract of Nannochloropsis oceanica as an active ingredient, which improves the memory disorder induced by LPS in a mouse model, Inhibition of inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) and COX-2 (cyclooxygenase-2) expression and NO production induced by LPS in glial cell BV-2, production of Aβ induced by LPS, -KB activity and the activity of [beta] -secretase, and reduces the oxidative stress induced by LPS, and thus can be usefully used as a composition for preventing or treating dementia. |
