abstract |
There is provided a semiconductor device in which the physical characteristics of the dielectric material are modified to provide additional benefits to the surrounding structure during further processing and a method of manufacturing the same. This modification can be performed by implanting ions into the dielectric material to form a modified region. Once the ions have been implanted, the additional processing depends on the modified structure of the modified region instead of the original structure. |
