abstract The present invention relates to a DNA aptamer that specifically binds to the surface of Salmonella typhimurium, detection of Salmonella typhimurium using the same, and diagnosis of salmonellosis by Salmonella typhimurium. The DNA aptamer of the present invention has the property of specifically binding to the surface of Salmonella typhimurium live bacteria which is a causative organism of salmonellosis. Using the DNA aptamer of the present invention, the presence of Salmonella typhimurium live bacteria in the biological sample can be confirmed, and thereby the salmonellosis can be diagnosed. In addition, the DNA aptamer functional material of the present invention can replace the molecular biologic diagnostic method such as the conventional PCR method used for diagnosis of salmonellosis, and can be diagnosed by a quick and economical method.
