There is provided a novel detergent composition which can be used to remove the cured backing material from a printed material obtained by lamination, such as 3D inkjet printing. The detergent composition is a water soluble alkaline composition comprising a combination of two alkaline materials of salable type: an alkali metal hydroxide of a concentration of less than 3 weight percent of the total weight of the composition, respectively. The detergent composition is characterized by a high and constant rate of dissolution and is particularly useful for removing cured support materials comprising cross-linked polymer chains such as cross-linked polyacrylate chains. There is also provided a kit comprising an alkaline substance, a method of making a three-dimensional model object using the detergent composition or kit, and a three-dimensional model object produced thereby. |
