abstract The present invention relates to a composition for inhibiting skin aging due to ultraviolet rays, and more particularly, to a composition effective for preventing and improving skin aging caused by ultraviolet rays, which comprises an active ingredient. According to various embodiments of the present invention, a composition containing moluccanin as an active ingredient is selected from the group consisting of HO-1 (Heme oxygenase-1), NQO1 (NAD (P) H quinone oxidoreductase 1) and SOD2 (Superoxide dismutase 2) (ROS) in skin cells by increasing the activity of at least one antioxidant enzyme selected from the group consisting of an anti-oxidant, an anti-oxidant, and an anti-oxidant.
