abstract Through the present invention, it was confirmed that ACC, which is a precursor of ethylene, promotes cell growth and production of astaxanthin in microalgae hippocampus, which is biosynthesized with astaxanthin. This is significant in that it promotes the biosynthesis of astaxanthin by biologic factors, largely deviating from the method controlled by existing non-biological factors. In addition, if this method is combined with existing researches, it can be said that this method is very meaningful in view of industrial applicability in the future.
