abstract |
The method for cleaning the canal of the patient's eustachian tube (ET) involves the use of instrument (4000). The device includes a proximal portion 402, a distal portion 406, a shaft 408 extending between the proximal and distal portions, and a therapeutic feature 414 disposed at the distal portion. The method includes directing the instrument into the patient's bowel and advancing at least a distal portion of the instrument into the opening of the ET. The method further includes the further step of advancing the device within the ET such that the therapeutic feature is deployed beyond the constriction or coincident with the constriction. The method further includes moving the treatment feature to the cannula to clean the cannula. |
