Methods and compositions are disclosed for treating and reducing retinal degeneration using conditioned media from progenitor cells, such as postnatal cells, and progenitor cells. Nutritional factors and other agents secreted by precursor cells that protect retinal cells such as photoreceptor cells and inhibit apoptosis of retinal cells are also disclosed. |
