The present invention relates to antibodies against metabolites in serotonin, tryptophan and kinerenin pathways such as 5-hydroxyindole-3-acetic acid (5-HIAA), melatonin (MT) and kininic acid (KYNA) ≪ / RTI > Specific metabolite antibodies have low cross-reactivity with structurally related metabolites and are useful reagents for specific and sensitive immunoassays. The present invention also provides a method for determining the level of 5-HIAA, melatonin, or kininic acid in a biological sample of a human patient using such an antibody. |
