BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION 1. Field of the Invention [0002] The present invention relates to a method and an apparatus for controlling start-up of an LPI engine of a mild hybrid vehicle. The LPI engine startup control method for a mild hybrid vehicle according to an embodiment of the present invention includes: driving a fuel pump when a first contact of an ignition switch is selected; Performing an engine cranking operation by driving a mild hybrid starter & generator (MHSG) when a second contact of the ignition switch is selected; Determining whether a cranking end condition is satisfied while performing the engine cranking operation; Comparing the pressure of the liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) fuel to the target pressure if the cranking termination condition is satisfied; And controlling the MHSG to generate a torque corresponding to an idle torque of an LPI (liquefied petroleum injection) engine when the pressure of the LPG fuel is less than the target pressure. |
