Control system for control of distribution of medication |
abstract |
A system is provided for controlling the distribution of medicines in the treatment or prevention of epilepsy. The system's central controller has one or more processors that read and write data to and from the data store. The data repository includes a database of patient records, and each patient record has a medication approval field. The central controller may output the approval of the first prescription of the epilepsy drug to the patient according to the result of the genetic test on the patient and may schedule a follow-up examination of the patient prior to the approval of the subsequent prescription of the epileptic drug. There is also provided a way for the system to find usage. The system and method are useful for the treatment of severe subtypes of epilepsy or resistant epilepsy, such as Dravet syndrome. |
