abstract | The present invention relates to a composition for preventing or treating cardiovascular diseases, and more particularly, to a composition for preventing or treating cardiovascular diseases, which comprises a p32 inhibitor as an active ingredient. The p32 inhibitor according to the present invention has an effect of inhibiting arginase activity or azathioprine activity and has an activity of increasing the production of L-arginine, decreasing the calcium concentration of mitochondria and increasing the phosphorylation of CaMKII through inhibition of arginase activity . Therefore, a composition containing the compound as an active ingredient can be useful as a therapeutic agent for the prevention or treatment of cardiovascular diseases. |
