Wherein the lithium metal oxide powder comprises secondary particles comprising agglomerated primary lithium metal oxide particles bonded to each other, wherein the primary lithium metal oxide particles comprise Li, Ni, Mn, Co and oxygen, To 3 micrometers, wherein the secondary particles have a porosity of at least about 10%. Lithium metal oxide powders are particularly useful for preparing lithium ion batteries with improved performance when secondary particles are deagglomerated, especially in the formation of cathodes used in lithium ion batteries. |
