abstract |
The present invention relates to a method for selecting neurotoxins using neural cells which express polysialylated neuronal cell adhesion molecule (PSA-NCAM). When neural cells differentiated from human embryonic stem cell-derived PSA-NCAM-positive human neural progenitor cell (hNPC^(PSA-NCAM+)) are treated with a neurotoxic substance, cell viability decreases, cytotoxicity is induced, and the growth of neurites is suppressed as well. Accordingly, PSA-NCAM-positive neural cells can be useful in the selection of neurotoxins in vitro. |
