abstract |
A fast neutron reactor includes a reactor core having a device location array. Some device locations in the core include fissile and nuclear fuel assembly fuel assembly devices. At least one other device location in the core includes a Doppler response enhancer that enhances the negativity of the Doppler response coefficient in the core. In some embodiments, the Doppler response enhancer can also reduce the coolant temperature coefficient in the core. Thus, the Doppler response enhancer contributes to a more stable core. |
