| abstract |
An absorbent article that can be more easily adapted to meet the needs of individual wearers of the absorbent article. The absorbent article may have a top sheet layer, a back sheet layer, and an absorbent core between the top sheet layer and the back sheet layer. The backsheet layer may have a garment attachment mechanism located on the garment facing side of the backsheet layer. The absorbent article is located above the garment attachment mechanism and may further have a protective layer fastened to such garment attachment mechanism. The protective layer may be at least partially unfastened from the garment attachment mechanism. The protective layer of the absorbent article may be used by the wearer to provide additional coverage areas when considered appropriate by the wearer of the absorbent article. |
