abstract The present invention relates to an antiobesity composition containing a Hoveniae Semen seu Fructus extract as an active ingredient. More specifically, the present invention relates to a healthy food or a pharmaceutical composition for antiobesity, containing a Hoveniae Semen seu Fructus-derived methylene chloride extract as an active ingredient. According to the present invention, the Hoveniae Semen seu Fructus-derived methylene chloride extract inhibits induction of differentiation into adipocytes from fibroblast, and also suppresses gene or protein expression of adipocyte differentiation regulation factors, thereby being useful as functional foods for preventing or inhibiting obesity or pharmaceutical compositions for treating obesity and adult disease caused by obesity.
