titleOfInvention | Method of fabricating sponge having superhydrophobic and superoleophilic |
abstract | Provided is a method of fabricating a sponge having a super-hydrophobic property and a super-oleophilic property. Specifically, fluorine-substituted polysiloxane is obtained by mixing a fluoridated alkylsilane-based compound, an acid catalyst, and an organic solvent, and the sponge is coated with the polysiloxane. Accordingly, the present invention is capable of simplifying a fabricating process and reducing fabricating costs, because a surface of the sponge is given with the super-hydrophobic property and the super-oleophilic property by a process of fabricating a fluorine-substituted polysiloxane solution and dip-coating the sponge with the solution. In addition, the sponge fabricated according to the present invention is capable of selectively absorbing only oil from a mixture of the oil and water, so that the sponge is able to be actively utilized for an ocean oil spill accident or a process requiring separation between the oil and the water. |
