The present invention relates to a novel strain producing C5-C8 organic acid and a method for producing C5-C8 organic acid using the same, and more particularly, to a method for producing C5-C8 organic acid by culturing in a culture medium containing fructose Megasphaera hexanoica strain (KFCC11466P) and a method for producing C5-C8 organic acid using the same. When the strain of the present invention is cultured in a culture medium containing fructose, C5-C8 organic acid can be produced. In particular, when C2-C6 organic acid is added externally during culturing, selective conversion into C5-C8 organic acid is possible. The produced C5-C8 organic acid can also be used for the production of biofuels. |
