abstract | The present invention relates to a composition containing a pueraria lobata leaf extract as an active ingredient. Since it has been found that the pueraria lobata leaf extract, which is a natural extract, of the present invention inhibits expression of acetyl-CoA-carboxylase (ACC) gene, which plays an important role in lipid synthesis during a differentiation process of adipose precursor cells, and reduces the activity of glycerol-3-phosphate dehydrogenase (GPDH), which is involved in lipid differentiation and lipid synthesis, thereby inhibiting lipid accumulation. Accordingly, the composition containing the pueraria lobata leaf extract of the present invention as an active ingredient may be provided as a health food or pharmaceutical composition capable of preventing or treating obesity. |
