titleOfInvention | Novel SLCO2B1 Single Nucleotide Polymorphism Markers and Uses Thereof |
abstract | The present invention relates to uses of a marker for predicting a novel single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) existing in a solute carrier organic anion transporter family member 2B1 (SLCO2B1) gene, and a drug reaction thereof. More specifically, the present invention relates to a composition for predicting or diagnosing drug reactions, a kit for predicting or diagnosing drug reactions, a method of providing information for selecting and determining drugs, a method for detecting a mutant genotype of a gene associated with drug reactions, and a method of providing information for single nucleotide polymorphisms of the SLCO2B1 gene using SLCO2B1 single nucleotide polymorphisms. A composition for predicting or diagnosing drug reactions according to the present invention comprises: a preparation which is capable of detecting single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNP) of bases selected from the group consisting of 1207^th, 1536^th, 1594^th and 2319^th bases in a polynucleotide consisting of sequence number 1 as a single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNP) region of an SLCO2B1 gene; or a preparation which is capable of detecting amino acid selected from the group consisting of 271^th, 381^th, 400^th and 642^th amino acids in a polypeptide consisting of sequence number 2. A novel SLCO2B1 single nucleotide polymorphism marker suggested in the present invention is capable of being usefully used as a biomarker associated with drug transporter dysfunctions. That is, a novel SLCO2B1 single nucleotide polymorphism of the present invention is used as a biomarker such that abnormality syndromes due to lack of drug transporters and differences in drug transporter activities per specimen individuals are capable of being predicted or diagnosed. Particularly, the SLCO2B1 single nucleotide polymorphism of the present invention, as a novel mutant gene discovered from Koreans, is capable of contributing to developing a gene diagnosis method for Koreans by providing core base information in the development of a Korean customized drug treatment method. |
