Disclosed herein is a marine diesel cylinder lubricating oil composition comprising (a) a large amount of one or more Group I base stocks, and (b) (i) an alkyl-substituted hydroxyaromatic carboxylic acid having a TBN of about 100 to about 250 At least one alkaline earth metal salt, and (ii) at least one highly polarized alkyl aromatic sulfonic acid or salt thereof; Wherein the aromatic moiety of the alkyl aromatic sulfonic acid or salt thereof does not possess a hydroxyl group; The marine diesel cylinder lubricating oil composition has a TBN of about 5 to about 120. |
