Derivatives of n-desulfated glucosaminoglycans and use as drugs |
abstract |
The present invention relates to a process for the preparation of N-desulfated glucose aminoglycans which are converted to the corresponding aldehydes in which at least some of the diols and OH / NH 2 are reduced from the corresponding alcohols and selective 2-O - 2-O-desulfated glucose aminoglycan derivatives. The product has heparinase inhibitory activity and anticancer activity. Glucosaminoglycan derivatives are natural or synthetic glucose aminoglycans, preferably derived from undifferentiated heparin, low molecular weight heparin (LMWHs), heparin sulfate or derivatives thereof. The present invention relates to the preparation of such substances and their use as useful pharmaceutical active ingredients in pathological conditions and also relates to combinations with known established drugs or therapies. The present invention relates to a method for cleaving a C 2 -C 3 bond of a glucose amine residue of a glucose aminoglycan by oxidation of the above-mentioned glucose aminoglycan. |
