abstract In the present invention, a sol is prepared by mixing a water glass solution, a hydrophilic polar organic solvent and a silane-based surface modifier, a step of preparing a silica gel-based composite by immersing and gelling a substrate for a blanket into the sol, The present invention also provides a method for producing a silica airgel-containing blanket, comprising the step of drying the composite, and a silica airgel-containing blanket manufactured using the same. With this method, a silica airgel-containing blanket having excellent physical properties, particularly low tap density, high porosity and excellent mechanical flexibility, can be produced by using a minimum amount of surface modifier without a separate surface modification step .
