abstract |
Reduced density articles made from thermoplastic polycarbonate compositions and methods of making same. The reduced density article of manufacture has a specific microstructure comprising (1) a specific density and (2) from 1 vol% to 20 vol% voids, wherein at least 80% of the voids are voids of high aspect ratio, % Is a spherical void having a diameter of 10 to 100 microns. The thermoplastic polycarbonate composition has a specific bisphenol A of 50 mol% or more. The reduced density manufactured article is produced by a monofilament laminate manufacturing technique. |
