titleOfInvention photovoltaic cells
abstract The solar cell incorporating the semiconductor element 10 is comprised of a single conductive type as a whole. The biasing agent 26 creates an electric field in the space charge region by band bending with a different work function than that of the semiconductor element placed on the face of the element. The electrodes contact the semiconductor element inside the space charge region. The carriers generated by the light absorbed in the semiconductor element are accelerated toward the electrodes by the electric field.
