abstract |
The present invention relates to a nematic liquid crystal composition having a negative dielectric anisotropy (DELTA epsilon) useful as a liquid crystal display material and a liquid crystal display device using the same. The liquid crystal composition of the present invention has a sufficiently small viscosity η, a sufficiently low rotational viscosity (γ 1 ), and an elastic modulus (γ) without lowering the refractive index anisotropy (Δn) and the nematic phase-isotropic liquid phase transition temperature (T ni ) K 33 ) and has a negative absolute value and a negative dielectric anisotropy (??). Also provided is a liquid crystal composition which has no display defect such as VA type using such a liquid crystal composition, excellent display quality, A display device can be provided. The liquid crystal display device using the liquid crystal composition of the present invention is useful for a liquid crystal display device for driving an active matrix, and can be applied to liquid crystal display devices such as a VA mode and a PSVA mode. |
