abstract An area heating element and a manufacturing method thereof are provided. The planar heating element includes a base layer, a metal mesh electrode disposed on the base layer, and a heating layer disposed on the base layer so as to be in contact with the metal mesh electrode. The method for manufacturing the planar heating element includes forming a metal mesh electrode on a base layer and forming a heating layer on the base layer in contact with the metal mesh electrode. Since the metal net electrode is formed in the form of a cloth or a nugget and is easily deformed, the surface heating element including the metal net electrode can be applied to various types of objects having a curved surface.
