abstract The present invention relates to a method for enhancing abiotic stress tolerance, comprising the step of overexpressing an MsDNAJ protein derived from an aliphatic stress tolerance-related alfalfa ( Medicago sativa L.), a gene encoding the same, and a MsDNAJ gene and overexpressing the same in a plant . The MsDNAJ gene of the present invention increases expression in various abiotic stress environments such as high temperature, low temperature, salt, drying, or heavy metals. Therefore, the MsDNAJ gene can be used for molecular sowing of herbaceous plants and can be useful for the development of transformants having strong abiotic stress tolerance. In addition, the present invention can greatly contribute to increase in productivity of crops or mass production of useful components.
