abstract The present invention relates to an organosilane having the general formula: And At least one of a thermoplastic resin, a thermosetting resin, and an elastomer &Lt; RTI ID = 0.0 &gt; (R 1) (3-n ) (R 2 O) n SiR 3 O (CH 2 CH 2 O) a (C 3 H 6 O) b R 4 In this formula, n is 1 or 2; a &gt; = 1, b may vary from 0 to 30, provided that a &gt; = b; R 1 is a hydrocarbon group containing 1 to 12 carbon atoms; R 2 is hydrogen or an alkyl group containing from 1 to 6 carbon atoms; R 3 is a divalent hydrocarbon group containing 2 to 12 carbon atoms; R 4 is hydrogen, R 1 , or an acetyl group. The organosilane compositions of the present invention may be useful in treating various surfaces to make the surface, among other things, more hydrophilic.
